Join the GFC Seattle Works Service Project! May 12 for Heron Habitat Helpers!

Every year, Gorilla FC joins Seattle Works Day to serve the community! This year, our community service project is Heron Habitat Helpers!  Our service project is on May 12 from 10am-2pm!

Sounders have a home game that evening, so this will have us done in plenty of time to get to prematch festivities, and it’s always fun working with a team of folks, then partying with them before the game!

GFC members and nonmembers are welcomed to join our service team! Participants will register individually using this link:  https://seattleworks.ejoinme.org/swd

On the 2nd page they will see a drop-down menu with team options and select ‘Gorilla FC’ to ensure they are on our team.  Remember, our project is 5/12, not 5/19(due to Vancouver away game).
Reminder that the $30 registration is a donation toward Seattle Works, which coordinates over 400 volunteer projects a year for our community.  You also get the official SWD t-shirt. Plus any nonmembers that join the GFC Seattle Works Team can purchase Cascadia tickets as a GFC Member, so join us to serve the community.

Heron Habitat Helpers is dedicated to supporting and protecting the Great Blue Heron colony that nests in Kiwanis Ravine Park through restoration of the local habitat to native species and through political action in local government.
They are currently supporting the 80 Great Blue Heron pairs that nest in Kiwanis Ravine. Native habitat is best for the birds. Volunteers will be working to restore the natural habitat by removing invasive species that prohibit other vegetation from growing.
Parking on Brygger Drive W is extremely limited. I suggest parking along W. Government Way. Nearest bathroom is at gas station on W. Government Way by Brygger.
