The Andrew Drake Fund has officially launched. The purpose is to raise as much money to get the largest flag possible for Gorilla FC Tifo. Here’s a message from Andrew Drake:
Hello fellow Sounders FC fans,
This came about because of a birthday party/bar session where we discussed how GFC could elevate our game day visual presence during this year, beyond the incredible hand made signs and our banner that are already in use. The members present were inspired by our shared desire to have GFC establish a larger visual presence and I expressed how much I would like to see GFC waving the largest flag ever flown at Qwest field. I was half joking at the time, but really, what’s to stop an organization like ours from accomplishing this?!
So…I’m okay everyone! In fact, I’ve never been better! I also would like to express what an incredible honor it is to have Gorilla FC (GFC), an outstanding organization routinely involved in fundraising for deserving social and world-wide community causes, choose to establish a Tifo fund using my name, as my involvement with the organization pales in comparison to many of the dedicated and good people that comprise GFC’s membership.
Please join with your fellow Gorillas and Sounder FC faithful in making a donation to this cause. I know that you will feel pride and satisfaction when our gigantic, 500 pound gorilla flag is flown, whether you see it from inside the stadium or on television. If we make it big enough, Arlo may even be prompted to say something about it on the radio!
C’mon Gorillas! C’mon Sounders! Let’s do this! Thank you for all that you are able to give.
