Join the Gorilla FC Service Project Team for Seattle Works Day 5/21! Yes it’s the same day as the Sounders vs Wiz (ahem Sporting KC) match. If you can’t join us, you can still donate in honor of Gorilla FC’s team by the following link! This event is open to all! GFC members and nonmembers! In fact, all people who register for this service project can join Gorilla FC at a discount of $15. Gorilla FC is doing a service project for the Seattle Works Day on 5/21. This is the same day as the Sounders home match vs Sporting KC(Ocho Cinco or not?) at 7pm. The schedule will be our project beings at noon. Followed by a Seattle Works Day happy hour/celebration at 330- 530. Followed by taking a Seattle Public Bus to Fado/Qwest for the match at 7pm.
Our project consists of volunteers helping clean common areas at the Wintonia and resident kitchens, stair wells and windows. They will also help organize storage areas. The building is a very secure, safe environment. What to expect: These events take place rain or shine so please come prepared for weather! We suggest that volunteers dress in layers of older clothes that include long pants, a long sleeve shirt and jacket. Durable footwear such as work boots, hiking boots or running shoes are recommended. Project hosts will provide any necessary tools. If you have your own work gloves, it is recommended that you bring them! Please eat a big breakfast or lunch before the project and bring a refillable water bottle. Water and sample-size snack bars will be available at the project site.
Food, drinks and fun will be available at the Seattle Works Day AfterParty. Projects will start promptly at noon and end at 3.30pm; the AfterParty is from 3.30 – 5.50pm at Seattle Center. Unfortunately this project is not suitable for minors. Here at the Wintonia there is a janitoral staff, however they are very busy doing more major maintence and repair projects that they seldom are able to adequately address these areas.d helpful day.
Seattle Works Day will be a fun way to help the community and work together.
